Alex racing into finals after dazzling Cup rides

WITH four wins and a second place contesting the Newcastle City Cup, Riverwood Kart racing prodigy Alex Ninovic is gearing up with confidence for the Grand Final of the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship next weekend.

KA3 Senior Drivers hit the track in Newcastle to determine the grid for Heat One, with Alex showing again why he is the current KA4 Junior National Champion, taking pole position in 48.600.
After 12 laps of racing, he crossed the line in first place. From there, it was a one horse race with each lap setting fastest times by the 15-year-old PCR Team Driver.
After 12 laps Alex crossed the line in first with a 4.184 second margin over his competitors.
As the track rubbered up, from pole position Alex put his head down and pushed his PCR Factory Kart sponsored by Hamilton Blackstone Lawyers into the lead and took the next win.
When the flag fell on lap 14 the next day, the Sydney ‘AN Racing’ driver again took victory by 3.484 while setting fastest laps before losing power in certain corners during the next race but holding onto second place.
Alex is now keen to improve ahead of the Nationals on August 19, 20 and 21.
“The Newcastle City Cup is not the Nationals and naturally this is our focus,” he said.
“We will take all our data back to the workshop to see where we can improve and go even faster.”
Alex goes into the Nationals just three points behind the current KA3 Senior National Champion, Jace Matthews.
