PARENTS are being urged to access $150 worth of vouchers through the Premier’s Back to School NSW program, with a range of businesses enjoying a steady stream of ‘back to school’ shoppers keen to save money on textbooks, uniforms, stationery and other school essentials.
Harvey Norman at Domayne Auburn, has processed dozens of vouchers for parents buying keyboards, printers, laptops and tablets.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for families and we are very happy for help,” a store spokesperson said.
Likewise at Officeworks Auburn, parents are using the funds to cover all school supplies such as books, stationery, folders and other accessories.
“Parents should start here at Officeworks and check out our extensive range of products, we are a one-stop, back to school shop,” a spokesperson said.
Costco Lidcombe has you covered on shoes, also stationery, laptops, tablets and more, with quite a few parents making the most of the vouchers, according to a spokesperson.
“It’s wonderful to see the Government helping out families in this way,” she said.
For shoes, shorts, socks and hats, parents can also head to Best and Less or Insport in Merrylands.
Kumon Granville which offers tutoring in Maths and English, is also accepting the vouchers to cover the cost of work sheets and lessons.
Premier Dominic Perrottet says summer holidays are a good time for families to start buying supplies for the new school year: “Parents, guardians and carers, including foster carers, can apply for three $50 Back to School Vouchers per child and use them at registered businesses towards items including bags, shoes, textbooks, stationery and lunchboxes,” he said.
