Rugby legends help christen Two Blues’ Hall of Fame just in time for home game

WELCOMING back legends Brian ‘Billy’ Melrose and Peter Thompson for its debut last week, the Western Sydney Two Blues Hall of Fame has opened at the Eric Tweedle Stadium grounds to showcase all the players who represented the club and their country during the club’s 145-year history.

Rugby Operations Manager Randy Basra says it’s been great to have fans view the gallery, with many of the immortalised players coming in to autograph their photos.
“We hope to get a lot of people at The Eric to check it out at our two upcoming homes games this Saturday, April 22, and Saturday, April 29,” he said.
With their top squad in 2023 comprising 75 per cent returning players, they have recruited another 10 to create depth and talent across the teams.
“We have the manpower and playing ability to really challenge for a finals spot this year,” Basra said.
“We started our pre-season early to ensure our players understand our gameplay and build on the great culture we created in 2022.
“Our club mantra is ‘MAD’ which stands for Make A Difference. That is to make a difference to each other as players and people, and to make a difference in our community.”
Two Blues have an exciting lineup of super rugby level players turning out for them this year, such as Nemani Nandola (Fijian international), Tolu Latu (Australian international) and Rahboni Warren-Vosayaco (current super rugby player), as well as internationally capped players from Tonga and Samoa.
“Thanks to people behind the scenes at the club and the amazing support from the council and sponsors, Eric Tweedale Stadium has transformed our club; it’s a wonderful place to come and spend an afternoon watching our impressive game, you’ll enjoy our length of the field tries and our brutal defensive hits; hope to see you on Saturday,” Basra said.
