Performing over 650 hours of service at public events and over 800 hours of administrative support, Ms Kwong was among 20 St John Ambulance NSW members awarded The Order of St John in recognition for going above and beyond to devote their time, effort and expertise helping others.
She joined St John Ambulance NSW in 2009 and is now a Divisional Officer for Youth at Granville Combined Division, where she was instrumental in initiating a cadet unit.
During the lockdowns, Ms Kwong conducted online weekly training sessions and e-learning sessions for youth members and weekly check-ins.
Sarah Lance, CEO of St John Ambulance NSW, said that volunteers were the heart of the organisation, and help to build safer, and more resilient, communities.
“These volunteers have made significant contributions to their communities… We are proud to recognise them, and the incredible impacts they continue to make,” she said.
