Charged men after seizing drugs, war medals and bird

TWO men have been charged after police allegedly seized drugs, cash, a cockatoo and war medals as part of an investigation into drug supply in Sydney’s south-west.

Bankstown Police began an investigation in May into the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs and firearms in the south-west Sydney region under Strike Force Polar, which led to them raiding four homes in Lakemba, Bankstown and Punchbowl last Thursday afternoon and arresting two men aged 28 and 31.
Investigators allegedly located more than 6kg of methylamphetamine, a knife, cash and cannabis, as well as a cockatoo and war medals alleged to have been stolen.
The 31-year-old Bankstown man, who police will allege is subject to Drug Supply Prohibition Order, was charged with four counts of possess prohibited drug, three counts of supply prohibited drugs, use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, and goods in custody suspected stolen in/on premises.
The 28-year-old Punchbowl man was charged with larceny and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.
Investigations under Strike Force Polar are continuing.
