Spawning seven players that have represented Australia – Therese McGregor, Michelle Goszko, Olivia Magno, Sharon Millanta, Ashleigh Gardner, Sarah Aley and Erin Burns, they also have a number of players who have taken part in the WBBL competition.
Looking for players aged 12 plus, they have vacancies to fill in all grades – 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, U18 Brewer Shield and U15 Sixers Cricket League.
With Round 1 washed out for all grades earlier this month, they got off to their batting best on the weekend and are hopeful most grades will go all the way to the top this season.
Club Registrar Andrew Lawler said females looking to give cricket a go, would be hard pressed to find a better club than Bankstown.
“We’ve got the best coaches headed by former Australian player Sarah Aley and probably the cheapest fees in town,” he said.
Students pay $145 for the season, which can be offset using an Active Kids Sports Voucher, while adults pay $215.
“It makes for a pretty cheap and very fun summer,” Lawler said.
“All our players get plenty of experience batting, bowling and fielding but our top priority is to ensure they have good, sociable time which they do, it’s a wonderful, friendly club.”
With training at Bankstown Oval on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm, games are played on Saturday for the U15 Sixers and 3rd Grade, while Sundays see 1st and 2nd grades along with U18 Brewers Shield side play.
