Karate champ wins Featherweight Title

HE was a four-time National Black Belt Karate Champion before turning 16 and now Georges Hall resident Daniel Milosovic (pictured) has just won the NSW Lightweight Boxing Title at 17.

Having just completed his HSC at Bass High, Daniel says he is thrilled to have the Australian Boxing League Championship under his belt and it has spurred him on to train even harder as an amateur boxer before turning pro in a couple of years.
“I wake up in the morning and the first thing I think about is boxing and it’s the same when I’m going to sleep at night,” he said.
“I’ve been training everyday in between running and doing sit-ups and push-ups; I’ve also got to be careful about keeping my weight down to around 60kg which isn’t always easy.”
Daniel said that his Dad Paul taught him the basics of how to box when he was five or six before he started getting serious about it around three years ago.
“I fell in love with boxing as a small child,” he said.
“The adrenaline rush is second to none and it seems like it’s the only thing I know how to do or want to do.”
Daniel’s next fight will be for Anthony Mundine’s event, ‘Indigenous Allstars versus The Rest of the World’, at Arena Sports Club on November 5-6.
“It should be a great night,” he said.
