Invited by the organisation to take part after the semi-final, she spoke on the subject: ‘How does the international community better uphold the human rights of prisoners?’ as well as delivering an impromptu speech.
RPCS Diverse Learning Co ordinator Melinda Gindy who also manages the school’s enrichment and extension programs, says the school is extremely proud of the Year 9 student’s accomplishment.
“She was up against participants in Year 10 so she did very well,” Ms Gindy said.
“Together with staff, families and students, we are committed to fostering an environment that grows engaged learners who are connected through a sense of belonging and are striving for excellence.
“RPCS students are able to explore a particular area of interest with curiosity, depth and complexity; from robotics to debating, they are offered engaging learning opportunities outside of the standard curriculum.”

SHE didn’t win the Grand Final round of the United Nations Youth Australia Voice competition but Regents Park Christian School (RPCS) student Janelle Lwin (pictured) has been awarded a ‘Top 8’ certificate.
