USA dream’s step closer after teen selected in State League

IT all began when Bass Hill’s Adam Craft started playing t-ball at age six and loving it, the natural bowler and batter swiftly moved through the ranks of Bankstown Sports Braves Baseball Club before being selected recently in the Macarthur Orioles State Baseball League aged just 15.

Up against men now in second and third grades, Dad Jeff says passionate sportsman Adam is holding his own.
Hoping to make the NSW team in the U16 category for next year’s nationals and eventually make the U18s Australian squad, the Westfield Sports High School baseball superstar plans to “live the dream” after finishing high school.
“He plans to get a scholarship to play baseball with a college in the USA,” Jeff said.
Macarthur just had their ninth player in two years make the leap to college in the USA at Big Spring, Texas, to play for the Howard College Hawks baseball team so it’s a likely possibility that Adam will also make the grade in the future.
“It’s exciting but we’ll have to wait and see, he’s still got a few years left here to build his skills and experience,” Jeff said.
