Last year, the initiative raised almost $850,000 for 782 clubs, including St Christopher’s Cricket Club in Panania, which collected over $2,000 in raffle ticket sales.
Jumping on board again this year, St Christopher’s vice president Andrew Sheehy says this year’s prize line-up is astonishing.
“Here’s your chance to win a Toyota Kluger, Yaris Cross or Corolla,” he said.
“Minor prizes include once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like a coaching clinic or dinner with a current Australian cricketer, hospitality experiences at an Australian Test or One-Day match, Apple iPads or numerous vouchers worth between $200 to $2000.
“Our last two seasons have been interrupted or hindered by Covid-19 lockdowns or rain and as a result, our efforts to raise funds for our club have been limited so this has become a major fundraising opportunity for our club.
“While we are lucky to have some awesome sponsors who have supported us in our difficult financial times, this type of fundraising is crucial to allow the club to update playing gear and uniforms to give back to the St Christopher’s players.”
Junior focused, the club is passionate about the success they have been enjoying with their female players who are smashing it at representative level.
“We have also started focusing on our pathways from junior cricket to senior cricket for our older players,” Sheehy said.
“This season, our two senior teams have had a total of 13 players under 18, making their senior club debut in the first two weeks of the season.”
